Jerusalem police are investigating a suspected abuse case involving two toddlers allegedly cared for by a 49-year-old private nanny from the city’s Har Homa neighborhood. According to the suspicion, she shouted at the children, insulted them, and in some instances ignored their crying and needs while responsible for them.
The case was opened after complaints reached the Oz police station. Investigators began collecting evidence and other findings to examine the allegations.
The suspect was arrested on Monday night and taken in for questioning. She was brought to Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, which ordered her detention extended until June 29, 2026, to allow the investigation to continue.
Police said the probe is ongoing and that all circumstances of the case are being examined. At this stage, the allegations remain only suspicion and the nanny has not been convicted.
