Car Plunges Five Meters Into Jerusalem Garden, Driver Rescued

A dramatic car accident occurred in the Gilo neighborhood of Jerusalem on Wednesday when a private vehicle veered off a street and fell approximately five meters into a private garden, landing on its side. Firefighters and rescue teams from the Jerusalem district were dispatched to the scene following an urgent report of the crash on De La Pergola Street.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found the car overturned in the yard. Firefighters immediately implemented emergency procedures to prevent further instability of the vehicle and to extract the trapped driver. After a complex but swift operation, they successfully removed the driver from the overturned passenger compartment. The driver was conscious throughout the rescue and was handed over to medical teams waiting at the scene.

Initial medical assessments indicated the driver's condition was light to moderate. The incident commander, Chief Fire Officer Omri Avraham, described the scene, stating, "Upon arriving at the scene, we observed a private vehicle overturned after it had fallen from a significant height of about five meters into a yard. We acted quickly and carefully to rescue the trapped driver from the vehicle, and fortunately, we extracted her conscious and transferred her for further medical treatment."
