Range Rover Sport EV Unveiled as Electric SUV Line Expands

Land Rover has officially revealed the Range Rover Sport EV, following the recent launch of its larger sibling, the Range Rover EV. This new electric model is slated to arrive in Israel several months after the flagship, expected in the second half of 2027.

The Range Rover Sport EV shares its powertrain architecture with the larger model, featuring an 800-volt system. The entry-level electric version delivers 450 horsepower and 69 kgfm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. A more powerful variant boasts a combined output of 550 horsepower and 86.6 kgfm of torque, achieving the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.5 seconds.

Despite sharing the same 118.5 kWh battery as the larger Range Rover, the Sport model achieves a slightly longer range of 609 km under WLTP standards, translating to an estimated 536 km in real-world conditions. It supports 22 kW internal charging and rapid charging up to 350 kW, capable of adding 220 km of range in 10 minutes or charging from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes.

Advanced handling systems include intelligent traction management, rear-axle torque vectoring, and active roll control, which monitors 100 parameters 500 times per second to optimize body control during cornering and braking. Like its larger counterpart, the Range Rover Sport EV can ford water up to 90 cm deep and climb angles of 33 degrees on the approach and 45 degrees on departure. Exterior design changes are subtle, focusing on more aerodynamic grilles, wheels, and an improved underbody for better airflow.
