A 67-year-old man was shot and killed on Tuesday morning near the village of Ka'abul in the West Galilee, in view of motorists on Highway 70, one of the area's main roads. Police said the motive appears criminal and launched an investigation and searches for suspects. Officers also found a burned vehicle nearby and are checking whether it is connected to the killing.
Magen David Adom said the emergency call about the shooting reached its Ashkelon region dispatch center at 6:28 a.m. Paramedics and medics found the victim with penetrating wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene.
MDA emergency medic Gamal Abu Rumi said, "The injured man was lying unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, with penetrating injuries to his body. We carried out medical checks, but his injury was critical and we were forced to declare him dead at the scene."
Police said the case is being treated as a criminal homicide. According to the report, 133 people in Israel's Arab society have been killed since the beginning of the year.
