A 67-year-old man was shot dead on Tuesday on Route 70 near the junction by Ka'abul in northern Israel. He died from severe injuries after being hit by gunfire, according to emergency responders and police.
Magen David Adom teams who arrived at the scene said they found a man with penetrating wounds, no signs of life, and that he was already in critical condition. MDA emergency medic Jamal Abu Rumi said, "The injured man was lying unconscious with no pulse and no breathing, with penetrating injuries to his body. We carried out medical checks, but his injury was critical and we were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene."
Police said they have opened an investigation into the shooting near Ka'abul. They added that the victim's identity has not yet been released, and that the suspected background to the incident is criminal. The article also notes that in February, during a Border Police operation in Ka'abul, officers fired at a suspected motorcyclist who did not obey orders to stop; that rider was badly wounded and later died.
