Shin Bet Won't Provide Direct Security for Gadi Eisenkot
The Shin Bet security agency will not provide direct security detail for Gadi Eisenkot, the chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, the party announced. The Shin Bet stated that following consultations with internal and external professional bodies, Shin Bet Director David Barnia approved several measures to create optimal security for party leaders.
According to the agency, intelligence units will provide intelligence oversight and escort. If a party leader desires personal security, the private security company they hire will be permitted to carry weapons even without concrete intelligence or a specific threat. Full coordination will be maintained between the Shin Bet's security department and the party leaders, and the service will conduct periodic assessments to evaluate the threat level for each leader.
