Netanyahu Warns of Enemy Attacks Ahead of Elections
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated Tuesday that "signs indicate our enemies will try to attack us" ahead of the upcoming elections. Speaking at the Tel Nof Air Force base, Netanyahu issued a direct warning to adversaries: "Don't mess with us, not now and not ever. Our long arm will reach you anywhere, anytime."
Netanyahu also highlighted recent Israeli military successes, including the elimination of the Hamas terrorist who abducted Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or, and the killing of a Hamas battalion commander in northern Gaza overnight. He noted that over 100 terrorists have been killed in Gaza in recent weeks, and that Israel is also operating in Lebanon, citing activity on the Ali Tahir ridge.
The Prime Minister addressed the immense pressures Israel faces, stating, "There are tremendous achievements, but there are also tremendous pressures, and the pressures are to retreat, to give up the great achievements secured by the bravery of our fighters. I am not letting that happen, and I will not let it happen." He affirmed that the Air Force continues to operate "all the time in all sectors."
In response, the Yesh Atid party, led by opposition leader Yair Lapid, called for Netanyahu to immediately update Lapid on the security threats he mentioned. The party emphasized that Israel's security must not be entangled with the election campaign, even for appearances.
