Chain-Reaction Crash on Highway 6 Injures 18 During Sukkot Holiday
A multi-vehicle accident involving eight cars occurred on Highway 6 near the Iron Interchange on Tuesday morning during the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday. The collision, which took place in the northbound lanes, resulted in 18 people sustaining light injuries, according to reports.
Emergency services, including Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics, responded to the scene after receiving a call at 9:42 AM. Ten of the injured were transported to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera for further treatment.
The incident led to the closure of the northbound lanes of Highway 6, causing significant traffic congestion. While two of the three lanes were later reopened, one lane remained blocked. Police were present to manage traffic and secure the scene, urging drivers to exercise patience and follow instructions.
Footage of the MDA's response and the scene was released. The accident caused considerable disruption during a busy travel period for the holiday.
