New West Bank Neighborhood Established in Memory of Fallen IDF Soldier

A new neighborhood named "Kerem Hillel" has been established in the settlement of Migdalim in the eastern West Bank, honoring Sergeant Hillel Dinar, an Israel Defense Forces soldier who fell in combat in Gaza. The neighborhood, consisting of 15 new families, was inaugurated on Monday in an emotional ceremony attended by Dinar's family.

Dinar was killed in battles in Beit Hanoun in the Gaza Strip. His brother, Elyashiv, spoke at the ceremony, expressing that his family finds solace in settling the Land of Israel amidst their grief, stating, "We are happy to be the hosts and to continue his path in building the land."

Samaria Regional Council Chairman Yossi Dagan blessed the establishment of the new settlement, vowing to connect the Samaria region with the Jordan Valley. He emphasized the importance of Jewish settlement in the land, comparing it to a reunited family. Dagan also projected that the Samaria region would eventually house one million Jewish residents.

Hadas Madmon, a representative of Migdalim, welcomed the new families, calling them pioneers who are fulfilling prophecies and expanding the settlement's borders. She expressed confidence that "Kerem Hillel" would be a strong, values-driven community and a spearhead for further settlement activity in the region.
