New West Bank Settlement Neighborhood Named for Fallen IDF Soldier

A new neighborhood, "Kerem Hillel," was inaugurated during the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday in the settlement of Migdalim, located in the eastern West Bank, near the Noaf AV"Y outpost. Approximately 15 families have settled in the new neighborhood, which was established in memory of IDF soldier Sergeant Hillel Deiner, who fell in battles in Beit Hanoun in the Gaza Strip. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Deiner family, the head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, the head of the Migdalim community committee, Yaakov Peretz, residents of Migdalim, and the families who have moved into the new homes.

Dagan, who cut the ceremonial ribbon, stated, "Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who sets boundaries for the widow." He further elaborated, "The Land of Israel without the people of Israel is like a broken family, like a widow. When the people of Israel return to the Land of Israel and establish new settlements, the family is reunited, and therefore there is a special blessing, 'who sets boundaries for the widow.'" Dagan also emphasized the strategic importance of expanding settlement in the area, noting, "This region, which connects the Samaria and Jordan Valley, is becoming a significant and central part of the State of Israel. Migdalim is on its way to becoming a regional council, and we will reach one million Jews in Samaria, God willing. We are doing this in memory of a hero of Israel who gave his life for the people and the land, so that we can live here as proud Jews."

Eliyashiv, the brother of Sergeant Hillel Deiner, also spoke at the ceremony, saying, "We are happy to be the guests of honor and to continue his path in building the land."
