Two Arrested in Tel Aviv After Chase, Found with Loaded Gun
Police in Tel Aviv thwarted a potential violent incident last night by arresting two young men found with a loaded handgun. The suspects, aged 19 and 36, were riding an electric bicycle and were spotted by officers from the southern Tel Aviv station and Border Police officers for committing traffic violations.
Upon noticing the police, the pair fled, leading officers on a chase through the city. During the pursuit, they recklessly disregarded traffic signals, running red lights and riding against traffic, endangering themselves and other road users. Authorities eventually stopped them using a roadblock.
A search of one of the suspects revealed a loaded pistol in his pocket. Both individuals were taken into custody for investigation at the southern Tel Aviv station. Police intend to request an extension of their detention in court.
