Suspect Arrested After Police Chase in Northern Israel Following Shooting
Police in northern Israel arrested a resident of the city of Tamra early Friday morning following a chase, after he was suspected of firing a weapon the previous night, injuring two people. The Northern District Police, in cooperation with Border Police special forces, were operating in Tamra when they heard gunshots. Two residents sustained minor injuries, according to medical sources.
Officers near the scene moved towards the source of the gunfire and spotted a suspect on a motorcycle attempting to flee. A pursuit ensued.
During the chase, police apprehended the suspect, a resident of Tamra, and seized a handgun. The suspect was taken for questioning and was expected to be brought before a court on Friday to consider a police request to extend his detention.
