Two Suspects Arrested After Dangerous Police Chase in Northern Israel
Police in Northern Israel apprehended two suspects early on August 28, 2026, following a high-speed chase and foot pursuit. Border Guard officers and Northern District police patrolling Route 70 spotted a suspicious vehicle driving erratically around 2:00 AM. The driver failed to stop when signaled, instead accelerating and eventually driving into a nearby olive grove.
As additional police units arrived, the two occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into a dark, wooded area. Officers utilized a drone and a flare to locate the suspects, who were found hiding in a bush within minutes. One suspect, a 26-year-old resident of Nablus, was found to be an illegal immigrant without permits to be in Israel. The second suspect, a 21-year-old from Laqia, was identified as the driver who transported the other individual.
Both suspects were taken into custody and are currently undergoing investigation at a police station. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
