Suspects Flee Car Chase, Hide in Bushes, and Are Apprehended
Two suspects were arrested in northern Israel after a vehicle chase ended with them fleeing on foot and attempting to hide in a bush. The incident occurred on August 28, 2026, around 2:00 AM, on Highway 70. Police officers and Border Police National Guard forces identified a suspicious vehicle driving erratically and signaled for it to stop, but the driver accelerated.
The vehicle eventually entered an olive grove. As additional police vehicles arrived, the two occupants exited the car and fled on foot into the dark terrain. Police utilized a drone and a flare to locate the suspects, who were found hiding in a bush within minutes and taken into custody.
According to police, one of the arrested individuals is a 26-year-old resident of Nablus who was in Israel illegally without permits. The second suspect, believed to be the driver, is a 21-year-old resident of Lakiya. Both were transferred for investigation, and the incident is under ongoing inquiry.
