Police Chase on Highway 1 Ends with Arrests After Suspects Ram Barricades and Injure Officers

A rare and dangerous police chase unfolded on Highway 1 near the Jericho lookout, involving a vehicle that performed reckless overtakes and endangered other road users. The suspects, including a minor and two adults, broke through police barricades, ran red lights, and collided with police vehicles. During the pursuit, the driver attempted to run over a police officer, prompting officers to fire at the vehicle to stop it. The chase ended near Jericho, where the suspects were apprehended after the driver again tried to flee and rammed police cars. Two officers sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment, and one suspect was also treated for injuries sustained during the arrest.
