Police Chase Near Jericho Ends with Three Arrests and Injured Officers

Jerusalem District police arrested three suspects today following a high-speed chase involving gunfire near Mitzpe Jericho and Jericho. The pursuit began when a vehicle performed dangerous overtakes on Route 1 and failed to stop after police orders. The driver fled while running red lights, breaking through roadblocks, damaging police vehicles, and injuring a female officer. After the vehicle was located in Jericho, the driver continued a reckless escape attempt and tried to run over a police officer. Officers fired at the vehicle and managed to stop it. Two officers sustained minor injuries and were evacuated for medical treatment. The suspects, two adults and one minor from Luban al-Sharqiya and Qabalan, were detained, with one requiring medical care. The driver was found to have never held a valid driver's license.
