Suspects Flee Police in Wild Chase, Apprehended After Drone and Flare Use
Early Tuesday morning, August 28th, police officers from the Northern District and the National Guard's northern combat unit, operating on Highway 70, spotted a suspicious vehicle driving recklessly. When officers attempted to stop the car around 2:00 AM, the driver refused to comply and sped away, eventually entering an olive grove. As additional police vehicles arrived, two suspects exited the car and fled on foot into the darkness.
Law enforcement utilized a drone and a flare to locate the suspects, who were found hiding in bushes within minutes and taken into custody. One of the apprehended individuals was identified as a 26-year-old resident of Nablus, who was in Israel illegally without permits. His accomplice, a 21-year-old resident of Laqia, was also arrested.
Both suspects were taken to a police station for questioning as the investigation continues. The Northern District police stated they will continue to act decisively against lawbreakers and anyone facilitating the entry or presence of illegal residents in Israel to ensure public safety and prosecute offenders.
