Israeli Police Arrest Two After High-Speed Chase Near Shefa-Amr, Seize Glock Pistol

Israeli police apprehended two young men from the towns of I'billin and Ibtin following a dangerous high-speed chase on Route 781 near Shefa-Amr in early August. The suspects, aged 21 and 18, attempted to evade officers by driving against traffic and endangering other drivers. During the pursuit, police officers from the Border Police's Security Division and the Northern District's Yamam unit fired at the vehicle's tires to stop it.

As the suspects fled, they threw a Glock pistol out of the car window, which was subsequently recovered by the police. Both individuals were arrested at the scene. After completing the investigation, the Haifa District Court filed charges against them and requested their detention until the end of legal proceedings. The charges include illegal possession of a firearm and reckless driving.

The police emphasized the severity of the suspects' actions, which posed significant risks to public safety. The case remains under judicial review with ongoing legal processes.
