Shooting in Tel Aviv and Escape North: How the Two Suspects Were Caught

A prosecutor’s statement was filed yesterday, Wednesday, against two suspects who carried out a shooting with a firearm at a vehicle in Tel Aviv’s Tzameret neighborhood. The incident took place in the early morning hours on 20.5.26, when police dispatch centers received calls reporting gunfire in the area.

Large police forces arrived at the scene and began swift and thorough investigative activity, while collecting findings and evidence from the site. In covert activity by detectives from the Lev Tel Aviv station in the Yarkon district, the detectives managed to track the suspects, who fled the scene toward a hotel in northern Israel. The two were arrested at the hotel, a 41-year-old resident of Tel Aviv and a 26-year-old resident of Or Yehuda. Findings were seized in their possession that, according to suspicion, link them to the shooting incident. The two were brought in for questioning, and their detention was extended from time to time by the court.

The police said that yesterday a prosecutor’s statement was filed against them by the Tel Aviv District Attorney’s Office. In the coming days, an indictment and a request for detention until the end of proceedings are expected to be filed against them.
