Israel Imposes Full Closure on West Bank for Jewish Holidays
Israel's Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, has officially ordered a comprehensive closure of the West Bank, effective Sunday, in anticipation of the upcoming Jewish holidays. The directive, issued in line with recommendations from the military establishment, will remain in effect throughout the High Holidays and the intermediate days of Sukkot, known as Chol HaMoed.
Under the closure, Palestinian laborers will be completely barred from entering Israeli settlements and towns. Exceptions will be made only for essential workers who will be permitted entry into industrial zones, subject to specific directives from the IDF's Central Command.
All exceptional permits previously issued are to be canceled during this period. The only exceptions will be for emergency cases related to state obligations before the High Court of Justice (Bagatz).
