Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered a general closure on the West Bank, effective Sunday, following a recommendation from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The directive prohibits Palestinian laborers from entering West Bank settlements during the Sukkot holiday and its intermediate days (Chol HaMoed).
Entry for essential workers into industrial zones in the West Bank will be permitted under specific security guidelines from the IDF Central Command. No exceptional permits will be granted, with the exception of those required to fulfill state obligations to the High Court of Justice.
