Israel's Defense Minister Orders Full Curfew in West Bank for Sukkot
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered a complete curfew in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) starting Sunday, in accordance with recommendations from the IDF. The restrictions are set to be in place throughout the Sukkot holiday and the intermediate days, known as Chol HaMoed.
During this period, Palestinian laborers will be prohibited from entering settlements in Judea and Samaria. However, exceptions will be made for workers deemed essential, who will be permitted entry into industrial zones provided they adhere to the security regulations of the Central Command.
Katz also directed that no exceptional entry permits be issued, with the sole exception being cases where such permits are necessary to fulfill state obligations to the High Court of Justice, known as the Bagatz.
The decision, made upon the recommendation of military command, aims to enhance control over entry and movement within the region during the festive period. The restrictions will remain in effect until the end of the holiday.
