Israel Imposes West Bank Closure for Sukkot Holiday
Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to impose a general closure on Judea and Samaria starting Sunday, in accordance with the IDF's recommendation. The directive prohibits the entry of Palestinian laborers into settlements in Judea and Samaria throughout the Sukkot holiday and its intermediate days (Chol HaMoed).
Entry for essential workers into industrial zones in Judea and Samaria will be permitted under the security guidelines of the Central Command. No exceptional permits will be granted, except for those required by state commitments to the High Court of Justice (Bagatz).
