Fatal Road Accident on Highway 90 Claims One Life, Injures Five

A man, approximately 60 years old, died in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 90 near the settlement of Masu'a in the Jordan Valley on Friday evening, September 25. Emergency services arriving at the scene found the man unconscious in a roadside ditch and pronounced him dead. Five other individuals sustained injuries in the crash involving four cars. Two men, aged 60 and 40, are in serious condition, one person suffered moderate injuries, and two others sustained minor injuries. All injured parties were evacuated to hospitals, with some requiring transport via IDF helicopters. The accident, which occurred around 6:43 PM, prompted an investigation by the police into its circumstances. Paramedics described the scene as a "very severe accident" with significant damage to all vehicles. One car had overturned, trapping a 40-year-old man with serious injuries to his abdomen and limbs. Another man, around 30 years old, was in moderate condition with abdominal injuries. Firefighters from the Samaria region assisted in extricating the deceased from a vehicle, describing the rescue as complex due to the severe damage and the need to ensure medical teams could work. The injured were treated at the scene and evacuated to hospitals, with ongoing medical care during transport.
