Man Charged with Murdering Caucasus Mafia Boss in Haifa Restaurant
The prosecution has filed an indictment against Doron Weizman, a 54-year-old resident of Beit She'an, for the daylight shooting death of Caucasus mafia leader Yanis Yushbayev. The murder occurred on August 23rd. According to the indictment, Weizman armed himself and arrived at a restaurant in a stolen vehicle equipped with fake license plates. He ordered food and waited for Yushbayev to arrive.
After Yushbayev left the restaurant, Weizman followed him. The indictment states that Weizman aimed his weapon at Yushbayev's head and fired, describing the act as carried out with "freezing cold-bloodedness, after prior planning, in daylight, in a crowded restaurant." Weizman then fled the scene.
The indictment was submitted to the Haifa District Court.
