Killer Indicted for Assassinating Caucasus Crime Boss Near Caesarea

An indictment has been filed against the suspected assassin of Caucasus crime boss Yanis Yushbayev, who was shot dead outside a restaurant near Caesarea on August 23. The suspect, Doron Weizman, 54, of Beit She'an, reportedly waited for Yushbayev to exit the restaurant before shooting him once in the back of the head and fleeing the scene. Security camera footage captured Weizman smoking and drinking on the restaurant's patio while observing Yushbayev and his companions. He then approached the door, opened it, and fired the fatal shot.

Despite the assassin leaving no shell casings at the scene and the murder weapon not yet being recovered, investigators were able to identify Weizman through forensic evidence. The chair he sat on, cigarette butts, and a drinking glass he used were all examined by forensic teams, yielding findings that linked him to the location. Weizman was arrested in his bed within hours of the assassination.

Weizman has a lengthy criminal record, including agricultural theft, cattle, and horses. While police have identified him as the shooter, the full motive for the assassination remains under investigation. Authorities are still trying to determine who, if anyone, hired Weizman to carry out the killing, and the weapon has not been found.
