Police Advance in Assassination Case of Caucasus Mafia Boss

Israeli police report significant progress in the investigation into the assassination of Yanis Yushbayev, identified as the head of the Caucasian mafia in the Or Akiva and Sharon regions. Yushbayev was shot at close range on August 23 outside a restaurant near Caesarea, an incident that garnered widespread attention due to graphic footage from the scene.

Four main suspects have been arrested so far. At the center of the investigation is a resident of Hadera, known to police, who is suspected of carrying out the assassination as a hired killer for a substantial sum of money. Despite the suspect's complete silence since his arrest, police assert they possess concrete evidence and information directly linking him to the murder scene.

Concurrently, police arrested another Hadera resident suspected of ordering and hiring the hitman, likely due to a bloody dispute or a significant debt owed to Yushbayev. Among the other detainees are the brother of the suspected assassin, believed to have aided his escape and concealment after the killing, and another individual present at the restaurant during the shooting.

Police anticipate the investigation is in its final stages, with indictments expected soon.
