Two Israeli Soldiers Killed in Gaza Incident, Investigation Launched

The Israeli military has announced the deaths of two reserve soldiers, Nadav Kali, 24, from Ar-Halutz, and Ofek Moalem, 23, from Jerusalem, both serving in the 7007th battalion of the 17th Brigade. They were killed during operational activity in the Gaza Strip. While the IDF has not released details regarding the circumstances of their deaths, media reports suggest the incident involved a malfunction while operating two drones. One drone reportedly fell at a forward post in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, where the soldiers were located. Both sustained severe injuries and were evacuated to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead. An investigation into the incident has been initiated, with a preliminary theory pointing to a communications system failure. The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, has ordered the formation of a special expert team, led by a ground forces brigadier general, to examine the event and prevent future occurrences.
