Israeli Reservist Neria Leiter's Life Remains Critical After Car Attack
The life of Neria Leiter, an Israeli reservist who sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle, remains in critical condition. Dr. Alon Schwartz, head of the trauma department at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, stated that Leiter's situation is critical for at least the next 24 hours. Leiter is currently in the intensive care unit, and while his condition is stable, the injuries are very serious.
Following extensive surgeries throughout the night, Leiter is under close observation by specialists. Dr. Schwartz indicated that no further operations are immediately required. "We had a long night of operations," he told Channel 12, emphasizing that Leiter still has a severe wound.
According to Dr. Schwartz, it will be possible to assess Leiter's recovery from the critical phase only after doctors confirm the cessation of brain hemorrhaging and the stabilization of his blood pressure. He estimates this will take at least another full day.
