Reservist Critically Injured in Terror Attack, Family and PM Urge Prayers
Neria D. ben Chana, a reservist and son of Israel's Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter, remains in very serious condition following a deadly car-ramming attack on Route 443. After undergoing a complex, hours-long brain surgery at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, doctors report he is fighting for his life. Neria sustained a severe head injury and was unconscious, sedated, and on a ventilator when evacuated from the scene.
Medical teams performed life-saving procedures in the trauma unit before the extensive brain surgery. The hospital stated that his condition continues to be critical, with his life still in danger. The family resides in the settlement of Ali in the Benjamin region.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Neria at the hospital shortly before departing for a diplomatic visit to the United States. He met with the family to offer support and monitor Neria's medical care. Upon leaving, Netanyahu made an emotional appeal to the public to pray for Neria's recovery.
The Leiter family has also urged the public to recite Psalms and make good resolutions, praying for their son's complete and swift healing. The public is called upon to pray for the reservist's recovery.
