Poll Shows Netanyahu's Bloc Losing Ground, Eisenkot's Party Leads

A poll released by Israel's Channel 13 on Wednesday, September 23, indicates a shift in voter preferences ahead of potential Knesset elections. The "Yashar" party, led by Gadi Eisenkot, is projected to win 22 seats, surpassing Benjamin Netanyahu's "Likud" party, which is expected to secure 18 seats.

Other parties in the survey results include "BeYachad" led by Naftali Bennett and "Democratim" led by Yair Golan, both projected to receive 11 seats. The "United List," "Yisrael Beiteinu," and "Yahadut HaTorah" are each expected to garner eight seats. "Otzma Yehudit" and "Shas" are projected to win seven seats, "Tzionut Datit" six, and "Amcha Yisrael" led by Ofer Winter along with "Ra'am" five seats each.

The joint list of Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Zelekha is predicted to pass the electoral threshold, securing four seats. Notably, Benny Gantz's "Blue and White" party did not cross the threshold in this poll.

In terms of bloc strength, the current coalition parties are projected to win 51 seats, while the opposition parties (excluding Arab parties and the Hendel-Zelekha list) are expected to secure 52 seats. When asked about preferred prime ministerial candidates, 48% of respondents favored Eisenkot, compared to 36% for Netanyahu, with 16% undecided.
