Arkia Launches First Direct Flights From Tel Aviv to Madeira

Israeli airline Arkia has commenced direct flights from Tel Aviv to the Portuguese island of Madeira, often referred to as the "paradise of Europe." The inaugural flight, operated on an Airbus A321 belonging to Arkia in collaboration with Millennium, landed at Madeira International Airport, named after Cristiano Ronaldo.

The journey from Tel Aviv to Madeira takes approximately 6 hours and 20 minutes. The airport in Madeira is known for its unique and challenging operational characteristics, necessitating specialized training for flight crews. Arkia pilots successfully completed this required professional preparation before commencing operations on the new route, focusing on the specific demands of the runway and airport environment.

Initially, Arkia will operate three direct flights to Madeira in partnership with Millennium. The airline intends to expand its services on this route in the future, offering additional flights for Israeli passengers to book.

Madeira, an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, is promoted as a destination offering a blend of dramatic natural landscapes, cliffs, hiking trails, beaches, and picturesque towns.
