Popular Pool Cleaner Recalled Over Fire Hazard Concerns
Maytronics Ltd. is issuing an immediate recall for its popular Niya Aquasweep S10 rechargeable handheld pool cleaner, in black, due to a significant safety concern. The company has identified a potential risk of overheating and fire.
The product was imported and marketed in Israel between April 23, 2026, and August 14, 2026. An internal investigation by the manufacturer revealed that a mechanical weakness in the device's casing can lead to cracks. These cracks may allow water to penetrate the unit, potentially causing an electrical short circuit, overheating, and a fire hazard.
Consumers who own the affected pool cleaner are strongly advised to cease all use and charging of the device immediately. Until the cleaner is collected, it should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from children and flammable materials.
Maytronics is requesting that owners contact the company to arrange for pickup, discuss the issue, and receive appropriate compensation or resolution.
