Power Supply Recall Issued Over Fire Hazard Risk
Shimon Schreiber Ltd. is recalling its FMS 3S Lithium Battery Charger Power Supply, model AC-2S, manufactured by FMS in China. The product, sold as part of the RTF glider system, has been found to pose a fire hazard.
An inspection conducted by the Ministry of Economy's supervisor of standards, through the Standards Institution of Israel, determined that the charger does not meet Israeli Standard TI 62368 Part 1, which covers safety requirements for audio/video, information technology, and communication technology equipment.
Specifically, the charger's casing and internal components are not sufficiently resistant to heat and fire. Under normal operation or in case of a malfunction, the plastic may soften or melt, leading to short circuits, ignition, and an electrocution risk.
Consumers who possess this product are urged to immediately cease using it. They are invited to return the charger to the point of purchase for a full refund.
