Israeli Importer Recalls Popular CHMC S20-B Tower Fan Over Fire and Electric Shock Risks
IG International Electric Ltd. has issued an urgent recall for the CHMC S20-B tower fan, manufactured in China and sold in Israel between April 9 and August 31, 2025. The recall follows safety tests conducted by the Standards Institution of Israel, which found the fan fails to meet Israeli electrical safety standards for household fans. Specifically, internal power wires are not properly secured and may loosen due to vibration, exposing live electrical parts and posing an immediate electric shock hazard. Additionally, the power cords are inadequately fixed and could detach during normal use, risking electrical short circuits and fire.
Consumers who own this model are instructed to stop using the fan immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a refund or to the importer’s warehouse for repair or replacement. IG International Electric Ltd., based in Umm al-Fahm, is coordinating the recall with the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry’s Standards Authority. For further information, customers can contact the company via phone at 04-8136900 or email at [email protected].
