Israeli Economy Ministry Recalls CHMC S20-B Fan Over Fire and Electric Shock Risks

The Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry has issued an urgent recall for the CHMC S20-B model pedestal fan, imported and sold by I.G. International Electric Ltd. The recall follows safety tests by the Standards Institute revealing the fan fails to meet Israeli electrical safety standards. The product, sold between April 9 and August 31, 2025, poses risks of electric shock, short circuits, and fire due to improperly secured internal wiring that can loosen from vibration, exposing live parts. Additionally, power cables may detach during normal use, increasing the hazard.

Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the fan and return it to the point of purchase for a refund or to the company’s warehouse for repair or replacement. The Ministry’s announcement emphasizes the serious safety concerns and urges prompt action to prevent accidents during the hot season when fan use is common.

The recall highlights the importance of compliance with national safety standards for household electrical appliances and the role of regulatory bodies in protecting consumers from hazardous products.
