Urgent Recall Issued for Quartz Heaters Over Electrocution Risk in Israel
The Israeli importer IG International Electric has issued an urgent recall for the IG-1500C model quartz heaters, manufactured in China by LUXTEN, due to serious safety hazards. Following a thorough inspection by the Standards Authority and the Hermon laboratory, the heaters were found to violate Israeli electrical safety standards. The investigation revealed multiple critical defects: the heater's body can reach extreme temperatures up to 202 degrees Celsius, internal electrical wires are in direct contact with sharp metal edges, risking insulation damage and user electrocution, and the main power cable is improperly secured, increasing the risk of disconnection and electrical short circuits.
The recall applies to units sold between March 25, 2025, and December 25, 2025, with a production date of October 2024 and barcode 0724994139019. Consumers who own this model are instructed to stop using it immediately and return the product to the point of purchase for a full refund or to the importer’s warehouse for a replacement with a safe unit. The importer emphasized the urgency of the recall to prevent potential electrocution and burns.
This recall highlights the importance of compliance with safety standards for household electrical appliances and the prompt response by Israeli authorities and importers to protect consumers from hazardous products.
