Israeli Recall Issued for Belgian Waffle Maker Over Electrocution Risk
The Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry has issued a recall for a Belgian waffle maker model GL-WF-219 imported by Galon Fans and Vacuum Cleaners Ltd. The product, manufactured in China, was found to have a safety defect during testing by the Standards Authority and ITL laboratory. Specifically, the main grounding connection lacks a safety washer designed to prevent the loosening of the screw, creating a risk of electrocution during use.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the waffle maker and return it to the place of purchase or the importer's warehouse for repair. The Ministry emphasized that the product does not comply with Israeli standards for household electrical appliances and cooking devices. This recall aims to prevent potential electrical hazards associated with the defective grounding connection.
The recall announcement was published on Monday, and the Ministry continues to monitor product safety to protect consumers from similar risks in household electrical equipment.
