Israeli Economy Ministry Recalls Dangerous Degreaser Over Burn Risks
The Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry has issued an immediate recall for the degreaser product AQUAGEN D-455 due to serious safety concerns. The product, imported and distributed by Bar Bitzuach Shvik Guy Berda Ltd. and manufactured by SUCITESA in Spain, was sold in Israel between October 2025 and April 2026. Testing by the Standards Institution of Israel revealed that the degreaser does not comply with the official Israeli standard SI 4272, which regulates oven cleaning and degreasing agents.
The ministry warned that the product poses a significant risk of severe burns and eye injuries. Key safety failures include the absence of a child-resistant opening mechanism, making the packaging easy to open, and a lack of clear usage instructions. These combined defects raise a substantial risk of harm, especially if users are exposed to the active chemical without proper precautions.
Consumers are urged to stop using the degreaser immediately and return it to the point of purchase for a full refund. Alternatively, they can return the product to the importer’s warehouse for a refund or replacement. The ministry’s recall notice aims to prevent further injuries and protect public health.
