Gadi Eisenkot Mocks Channel 14 Documentary Ahead of Premiere
Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the National Unity party, on Tuesday preemptively criticized Channel 14's upcoming documentary series about him, hours before its premiere. The channel had promoted the series, stating it would explore his journey from "the boy from Afula who reached the top of the IDF" to a politician seeking to be seen as "the responsible adult."
Channel 14's promotional material described the documentary as examining the decisions, perceptions, and conceptions that shaped Eisenkot and the IDF. However, Eisenkot focused on a biographical detail in the promotion, claiming a factual error had already occurred.
"You haven't broadcast a minute of the 'investigation' yet, and here's the first lie: I love Afula, but I was born in Tiberias and grew up in Eilat," Eisenkot posted on social media in response to the channel's announcement. He highlighted that while he likes Afula, his birthplace is Tiberias and his childhood was spent in Eilat, directly contradicting the channel's characterization.
