Cyclist Dies After Being Hit by Truck at Zichron Yaakov Intersection
A cyclist, approximately 30 years old, was killed on Tuesday after being struck by a truck on Highway 4 at the Zichron Yaakov junction. The Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services received a report of the accident at 4:37 PM. Paramedics arriving at the scene found the cyclist unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, suffering from severe, multi-system trauma.
Emergency medical personnel attempted resuscitation efforts, but were ultimately forced to pronounce the cyclist dead at the scene. MDA paramedic Yosef Friedman described the scene, stating, "The cyclist lay on the side of the road, unconscious, without pulse or breathing. We performed resuscitation efforts, but his injury was critical, and we had to determine his death on the spot."
