Three Southern Residents Arrested for School Tablet Thefts

Three residents from southern Israel have been arrested on suspicion of breaking into and stealing school property. Over the past month, police have linked the same group to at least six burglaries at schools in the Lachish region. The thieves specifically targeted and stole tablets used by students. The investigation was conducted by officers from the Lachish District Crime Fighting Unit.

According to police, the suspects allegedly entered schools in the communities of Nitzanim, Beit Hanan, Beer Gan, and Emunim, stealing over a hundred tablets in total. During operational activities on September 22, police tracked the suspects as they headed towards the Sharon region. Officers from the Lachish District Crime Fighting Unit, along with police from the Kiryat Malachi station and Border Guard forces, apprehended the three suspects on Highway 6 near Kiryat Malachi.

The detainees are residents of a Bedouin community from southern Israel. They were taken to the Kiryat Malachi station for questioning. The investigation is ongoing, with police examining the suspects' potential involvement in other thefts. Authorities stated they will continue to identify and dismantle groups involved in property crimes.
