Israeli Police Arrest Minors in Beitar Illit for Threats, Theft, and Illegal Weapons
Israeli police officers from the Etzion station in the Judea and Samaria district arrested several suspects, including minors, on Thursday as part of the "Wave Breaker" operation targeting youth crime during the summer vacation. The suspects face charges including illegal carrying of weapons, threats, property damage, theft of diesel fuel, and drug trafficking. The operation focused on intensified checks and arrests of juvenile offenders throughout Beitar Illit.
During the operation, a 16-year-old local minor was found carrying a knife illegally. While detained at the police station, he allegedly vandalized chairs by scratching insulting graffiti against the police, leading to additional charges. In a separate case, two suspects, including a minor, were arrested following an investigation into threatening harassment of a public official and property damage near the official's home, where a trash bin was set on fire.
Additionally, police uncovered a suspect involved in diesel theft from buses and drug trafficking after previous seizures of jerry cans, siphoning tubes, and a stash of drugs. The minor suspect was arrested at his home, where hard drugs were found in quantities exceeding personal use. Police stated that investigations are ongoing at the Etzion station and further arrests are expected.
