Israeli Police Arrest Minor and Six Others in Weapon Seizure Operation in Ar'ara
Israeli police officers from the Ar'ara station, together with fighters from the Special Patrol Unit (Sahar), conducted an operation in the Bedouin town of Ar'ara in the Negev on Tuesday. During the operation, they seized two handguns, two fully loaded magazines, and an M16 rifle. Seven suspects were arrested, including a minor who is a resident of the town. All suspects and the confiscated weapons were taken to the Ar'ara police station for further investigation.
This operation was part of the "Iron Net" campaign, directed by Police Commissioner Major General Dany Levi, aimed at combating illegal firearms possession and reducing violence. Major Moti Tzarfati, officer of the Sahar unit, stated that the unit and Ar'ara police continue to act decisively and cooperatively to prevent illegal arms offenses and target perpetrators of crime and violence. He emphasized that every illegal weapon seized helps prevent future shootings and enhances the safety of law-abiding citizens. The police pledged to continue using all available means to remove illegal weapons from the streets and bring those involved to justice.
