Beit Shemesh Man Charged with Attempted Murder of Ex-Wife's Partner

An indictment for attempted murder has been filed against Eliran Salmi, a resident of Beit Shemesh, for allegedly stabbing his ex-wife's partner multiple times. According to the indictment, Salmi arrived at his ex-wife's home armed with a kitchen knife on the night of August 30th. He reportedly climbed onto a nearby awning, donned gloves, and entered the house despite his ex-wife's pleas for him to leave.

Salmi then allegedly approached the victim in the kitchen and stabbed him twice in the chest while shouting "Die! Die! Die!". During the ensuing struggle, Salmi reportedly stabbed the victim three more times in the back and bit his ear. The victim managed to grab Salmi's hand, preventing further stabbings, and a neighbor intervened, confiscating the knives.

The victim sustained severe injuries, including two stab wounds to the upper chest with lung lacerations, bleeding, two stab wounds to the back, and a fractured collarbone. He was hospitalized and underwent surgery. The indictment details that Salmi and his ex-wife divorced about two years prior, and she subsequently began a relationship with the victim.

Prosecutors noted that just days before this incident, Salmi had completed a 13-month prison sentence for offenses including threats, assault, and violating a restraining order against the victim and his ex-wife. The prosecution has requested that Salmi be held in custody until the legal proceedings are concluded.
