Jerusalem Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Stabbing Wife with Japanese Knife

A Jerusalem resident faces serious charges after allegedly attacking his wife with a Japanese knife, causing life-threatening injuries. According to the indictment filed by the prosecution, the man subjected his wife to years of jealousy, threats, and violence. The incident escalated during a hotel vacation where he strangled and assaulted her, then locked her inside the room, preventing her from calling for help.

The following day, he strangled her again, threatened to kill her and receive a life sentence, and threatened to scar her with a knife. Two days later, after the wife moved to stay with her family, the man came to their home under the pretense of reconciliation. He then left, returned with a Japanese knife, and attacked her, saying he did not want her to marry another man. The attack caused deep cuts to her face, neck, and hand, resulting in life-threatening injuries. She was hospitalized for several days, receiving life-saving treatment including blood transfusions and plasma.

The charges against him include attempted murder, aggravated assault, serious bodily harm under aggravating circumstances, threats, and assault. The case is being investigated by the Hebron police. The Jerusalem District Court is handling the case.
