Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Stabbing Ex-Wife's Partner

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Eliran Salame, a resident of Beit Shemesh, in the Jerusalem District Court, accusing him of attempting to murder his ex-wife's partner. Salame allegedly attacked the victim with a kitchen knife, stabbing him five times in the chest and back. According to court documents, Salame had recently completed a 13-month prison sentence for threats, assault, and violating a restraining order against the victim and his ex-wife.

On the night of August 30, Salame went to his ex-wife's home. When her new partner arrived, Salame confronted him, allegedly saying, "Aren't you afraid to die?" He then pushed the man and threatened to use an explosive device if the police were called. About an hour later, Salame returned to the house armed with a kitchen knife. He climbed onto a canopy near the entrance, put on gloves, and entered the home despite his ex-wife's pleas for him to leave.

Inside, Salame found the partner in the kitchen. He approached him and stabbed him twice in the chest, shouting "Die! Die! Die!" During a struggle that ensued, Salame allegedly stabbed the victim three more times in the back and bit his ear. The victim managed to grab Salame's hand, preventing further stabbings. A neighbor then intervened and confiscated the knives.

The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest and back, as well as a fractured collarbone. He was transported by an intensive care vehicle to a hospital, where he underwent surgery and was hospitalized. Salame faces charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault, threats, and battery.
