Massive Drug Shipment Worth $25 Million Seized in Central Israel; Three Arrested

Israeli police have seized a large shipment of drugs valued at approximately 90 million shekels (about $25 million USD) in the central region of the country, an operation described as one of the largest drug busts in recent years. The seizure took place at a compound in the community of Ahisamakh, just before the drugs were allegedly set to be distributed.

During the raid, investigators discovered roughly 94 kilograms of cocaine, tens of kilograms of ecstasy and MDMA, and hundreds of vials of ketamine, along with other substances. Police believe the compound served as a distribution hub for an extensive drug trafficking network.

Three suspects in their 20s, residents of central Israel, were arrested in connection with the operation on suspicion of managing and distributing the drugs. Their detention has been extended by the Magistrate's Court until September 23.

"We have dealt a severe blow to the criminals distributing poison," said Superintendent Amihai Panta, an investigations officer with the Jerusalem District's Central Unit. "We succeeded in exposing and cutting off one of the largest supply arteries of the drug plague in Israel."
