Massive Drug Bust in Central Israel Yields $25 Million Haul

Jerusalem District's Central Police Unit has seized a massive quantity of dangerous drugs, with an estimated street value of approximately 90 million shekels (about $25 million USD), in the community of Ahisamakh. Authorities are hailing the operation as one of the largest drug seizures in Israel in recent years.

During a tactical operation and investigation by detectives from the Jerusalem District, officers raided a compound in Ahisamakh, believed to be a distribution hub for a large-scale drug trafficking network. Inside a vehicle at the location, police discovered large amounts of drugs apparently being prepared for distribution.

The confiscated substances include approximately 94 kilograms of suspected cocaine, 39 kilograms of suspected ecstasy tablets, 25 kilograms of suspected MDMA, hundreds of vials of ketamine, as well as LSD and other dangerous drugs.

Three suspects in their 20s from the central region of Israel were arrested on suspicion of involvement in managing and distributing the drugs. Their detention has been extended by the Magistrate's Court until September 23.

"We have dealt a severe blow to the criminals distributing poison, whose goal is to profit at the expense of public health and the safety of our children," stated Chief Inspector Amihai Panta, head of investigations for the Jerusalem District. "Through this operation, we have succeeded in exposing and severing one of the largest supply arteries of the drug plague in Israel." He added, "We are not stopping here. It is clear to us that there are additional drug lines behind which stand criminals who will stop at nothing and are poisoning the streets, and we will continue to act with uncompromising determination to eradicate the drug plague from its roots and bring all those involved to justice."
