Israeli Police Seize 8 Kg of Drugs and Arrest Six Suspects in Jerusalem Crackdown

Israeli police in Jerusalem recently conducted a large-scale enforcement operation resulting in the seizure of approximately eight kilograms of various drugs and the arrest of six suspects. The confiscated substances included cannabis, hashish, crystal meth, and cannabis-infused electronic cigarettes, alongside about 24,000 shekels in cash. Authorities indicated the quantity was unusually large and believed to be intended for distribution and sale in the Jerusalem area.

The operation spanned multiple police stations across the district. At the Shafat station, officers seized around 363 grams of cannabis, 41 grams of hashish, cannabis electronic cigarettes, and 6,050 shekels, detaining two suspects. At the Lev HaBira station, about 5.5 kilograms of dangerous drugs and 15,140 shekels were confiscated, with two suspects arrested. In Beit Shemesh, over two kilograms of cannabis and hashish plus 1,700 shekels were seized, leading to one arrest. At the Shalem station, police found 221 grams of hashish, 4.9 grams of crystal meth, 10.6 grams of cannabis, and 1,341 shekels.

All six suspects were taken for interrogation, with some already brought before the Jerusalem court, which extended their detention. Another suspect is expected to appear soon for a detention extension hearing. The police emphasized the significance of the haul and the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
